Pretty original
But, I must ask you, how the heck do you sync these things so excellently? Overall, pretty original game!

Secret :P Glad you liked it =)
To tell the truth
I didn't really like this. It's good that you've finally released a new version and all, but there are several things I didn't like about this game that makes me like X2 alot more than this one, and I am being critical here:
1. The graphics wern't very good looking, when I look at this being a highly anticpated sequel, I was expecting better looking graphics. I thought they looked lazy and rushed.
2. Even on lower difficulties, I found all the songs to be very underrated on your difficulty scale. All the songs were too tough! Even on supposedly lower difficulties I couldn't pass ANYTHING. There are other reasons why I found it more hard.
3. You changed around the notecharts, I liked the old "scratch and 4 keys" thing, I thought it made it more original. But now, it just seems tougher with even numbers of keys (or with 6 keys and space bar, o2jam/djmax style).
4. You changed the life bar system from the IIDX scoring system to a DDR styled one. I didn't like that, I liked the threshold system, it allowed you to gain back up and still pass the song even if you majorly mess up in a spot
Going over it all, I think I may just go back to Extreme 2 and never go back. I was expecting a revolution, but all I got was yet another lousy sequel. They're always like that...

1. I put a huge amount of time into the song select interface alone, I was trying for a look that is a bit more simple and less cluttered compared to the previous games. I can understand any criticism about screen transitions though, since they honestly were rushed somewhat (I will be addressing this).
2. The game in general is probably more difficult then previous ones, especially on the Extreme difficulty. I tried to make the lifebar as lenient as possible to make up for this.
3. Having a 'scratch' when you are playing the game on a keyboard always seemed kind of strange to me. It's possible to remap the keys anyway you want, so djmax style using spacebar is also possible now.
4. I tried to stray away from IIDX somewhat in this release, and give the gameplay a more unique feel. The 80% bar to pass concept felt dated and too unoriginal, even if it was more interesting then just a lifebar.
Sorry if you're disappointed in this one... I know I can't please everyone, but it does make me question if coming back to Flash is a good idea or not =(
What a difference 9 hours can do
Okay, just to get you into the program again, I reviewed this game earlier today, but last time: I noticed some lag, some off-syncness, strict timing (or, wrecked up timing caused by the "hit the notes when they are INSIDE the box" thing), and some missed opportunities for some good note combos.
But now, I've seen some improvement. I noticed a bit less lag, that little spacebar thing you added helped with the sync, and you even fixed up the note bar to be a bit more like the older F2Jams (hit it on the red line, not inside a box). That's a true improvement.
Still, I personally there are a bit too many Flash based Beatmania/o2Jam clones in this contest, but this is shaping out to become one of the better Beatmania clones out there. But you know what I just can't wait for? Metal Freaks Xtreme 3, which I hear will be released for the Rock Out contest. MF is my benchmark of sorts for Beatmania-clones, in case you're wondering.
Okay, I still think the filter effects need to go, and maybe you could add an option for a darker background (since Beatmania and o2jam play on a darker note track). But at least, for the series, and compared to the last version you released earlier today, F2Jam 3.0.1 (lol) is starting to become the absolute benchmark for flash based DJ games.

Thank you so much for your review. I am glad that you thought that this game is a lot better than it was before. After seeing this review, I'm relieved. I thought I might get the same reviews I got this morning. Thanks so much for taking time to play this game again! I really appreciate it!
wow, tough
Okay, I'll give you an A for effort, but I'll give myself a D- for effort since I'm so bad at this game :D
Quite difficult, but played out nicely though! I like that, I'm better at music games that involve dodging and tapping arrow keys music than clicking to it.
But still, A for effort, 8 for overall, and fifened.
It was made so that you get used to ALL sorts of music games :) also some people find this much easier than other ones so i made this for them too :) glad u liked/sucked XP
